Prendiville Reserve Chardonnay
Wine
Sandalford Prendiville Reserve Chardonnay is made with Gin Gin clone fruit. These inherently low yielding Chardonnay vines were planted in 1985 and are unirrigated.
The grapes are handpicked and immediately chilled in a refrigerated container. They are delivered to the winery and whole bunch pressed, with only the free run juice used.
After settling overnight, the cloudy juice is transferred to oak for full barrel fermentation in a temperature controlled cellar. Once complete, the barrels are topped and sealed for maturation.
A proportion of the barrels undergo malolactic fermentation. After typically nine months of ageing, the wine is stabilized and clarified prior to bottling.
Straw yellow, Sandalford Prendiville Reserve Chardonnay is savoury and textured with rich fruit flavours, creamy complexity and crisp acidity. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
